The face of St. Margaret of Scotland, sculptured on the vaulted storage cellar beneath the lower kitchen.

Why is this considered to be her face? It's not very flattering... But really, I am not aware that faces on bosses were often depictions of particular saints. (I may simply be unaware of such a custom, though.) Is there actual evidence for the identification in this case?

The kind employee of Historic Scotland, who opened the cellar just for me and another tourist, told us that that face would have been the face of St. Margaret and the other face (Other post) is the face of her husband, King Malcom. She doesn't have any crown, but Malcom is crowned.
